Some of the dangers of exposure to radiofrequency (RF) radiation have been understood for decades—specifically, RF radiation’s ability to heat tissue quickly and cause thermal damage.

Effects of Cell Phone Radiation on Human Health
Many organizations around the world have examined the evidence about cell phone radiation damage. While determinations vary, most found some association between cell phone use and various negative health outcomes.
The National Cancer Institute looked at one massive case-control study spanning 13 countries. Analysis of the study’s data concluded a significant association between intracranial distribution of cancerous tumors and cell phone location. In other words, how participants held their phones when using them affected the location in the brain where tumors developed.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes that cell phone use hasn’t been ubiquitous for a long enough time to produce reliable data. However, the WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer classified RF electromagnetic fields as possible carcinogens for humans.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) currently doesn’t provide national standards for safe levels of RF exposure. But the causes of mobile radiation health effects in humans remain a top priority. The FCC requires that all wireless devices sold in the U.S. undergo an approval process to meet specific absorption rate standards before they’re sold to consumers.
The FCC also recognizes that some studies show wireless devices might cause issues for those people with implanted pacemakers. People who use pacemakers are advised to keep wireless devices at least eight inches away from the pacemaker at all times.

As you can see, there are some reasons to be concerned about RF radiation from cell phones. And in lieu of any accepted guidelines, it’s up to you to keep yourself safe.
